Our Therapists

Brenda

Brenda has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2018, when she graduated from South Dakota School of Massage Therapy. She is a specialist of Relaxation Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, and Cupping. Brenda has a lifelong desire to continue learning and growing her skillset. She has a love and passion for Massage Therapy that dates back as far as she can remember, finding her work true to the following Chinese proverb: “if you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.” She lives by this proverb, and believes that her work makes a positive difference in our community “one nervous system at a time.”

Cassidy

Cassidy has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2023. She studied Massage Therapy at Stewart's School in Sioux Falls, where she learned several massage modalities including Thai Massage. Cassidy had previously been familiar with Thai Massage prior to pursuing her education in Massage Therapy. Due to the immense benefits she received from Thai Massage, she set out to help others in the same way. Her intention is to have every client leave feeling better and more relaxed than when they arrived.

Beth Petersen - Owner

Beth has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2013, when she graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Saint Paul College in Saint Paul, MN. She began teaching Massage Therapy at Stewart's School in Sioux Falls in 2019, and continues to substitute on occasion. Among the many modalities and techniques Beth has learned, she was instantly drawn to Thai Massage due to its therapeutic benefits and accessibility.

Prior to her career in Massage Therapy, Beth worked with individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. During her time there, she noticed a direct correlation between the consistent use of physical therapy stretches/exercises and the maintenance of independence. This shaped her belief that lack of mobility often leads to pain; which leads to decreased activity levels and further mobility depreciation; and ultimately a loss of independence. Her experience inspired her to pursue her education in bodywork, where she discovered that Thai Massage fit the purpose she set out to achieve. Beth's mission is to empower all individuals to maintain their active lifestyles by improving range of motion, releasing pain and tension, and encouraging home care.

Unwind Bodywork also offers Swedish Massage. This is a Western-style massage commonly found in most US spas. Swedish Massage is relaxing, wherein practitioners use oils to massage muscles.

Deep Tissue Technique

Deep tissue massage targets muscles deep below the body's surface using slower and more targeted techniques such as compression with direct pressure, friction, stretching, or kneading. The nature of deep tissue massage makes it an effective technique for individuals with chronic pain conditions who benefit from a firmer touch.

Swedish/Deep Tissue Add-ons

Cupping Technique

Cupping is a type of therapy which employs the use of suction to create a vacuum inside the cup which pulls the skin upward. This treatment is believed to allow the fascia below the skin's surface to relax, making it an effective treatment for people with chronic pain conditions.

Hot Stone

Hot stone is a type of therapy added on to a Swedish or Deep Tissue session which employs the use of heated stones to relax soft tissues in the body. The gentle heat soothes the muscles and helps to increase blood flow to the areas worked.

Memberships

We have 3 membership tiers exclusive to Thai massage services. Our members receive a 10% discount on our standard Thai massage rates. Unfortunately, our membership is currently at max capacity, and all future openings are first come first serve. Contact us to be put on the waiting list!

Members do not only get a discounted rate; they can ensure they stay on track with their self-care needs by having a monthly massage. This way, they are less likely to get off track and end up in pain. The therapist works toward getting to a level of "maintenance" with members in order to prevent pain from coming back. This also makes it easier to heal when injuries happen.

Begin Members Receive 1 or 2 60 minute thai massages every month.
Maintain Members Receive 1 or 2 90 minute Thai Massage per month.
Thrive Members Receive 1 or 2 120 minute Thai Massages per month.
